Untap, Upkeep, Draw!!
Welcome to our April 1998 issue!! Before I begin, I'd like to thank everyone who contributed this month for making it our largest issue yet... there are no less than 21 articles for you! And a reminder for our readers -- if you like one of the articles you're reading, or have any thoughts about it, drop the author an e-mail -- everybody here is writing all of this for you, and we love to receive your feedback! Now, on to this month's Untap, Upkeep, Draw!!...
Congratulations, New Senior Contributors
We'd like to congratulate both Aaron Benanav, Pat Brokos, and David Gleicher (Grantfly) -- as of this issue, they are our newest Senior Contributors. Aaron Benanav is responsible for the very informative "Deck Design 101" column; Pat Brokos normally does the Mission of Mercy fan fiction series, though he took a month off to write the excellent "Comprehensive Guide to Stronghold"; and finally, David Gleicher has written some nicely done Deckbuilding articles. You guys are the best ^_^
More Chat Room News!
Jacob Krejci (aka Cup) has volunteered his services to run and maintain the new Chat Room Denizens page, which will be an informative guide to who's who in BD's Chat Room! Thank you, Cup!
April Fool's!
This year, April Fool's didn't go peacefully by, like last year. The entire BD community was shocked when we announced that WotC had bought out Beyond Dominia. Of course, the entire thing was a joke, but we're glad that some of you enjoyed it!
News on the Newbie Mill/Forum
Yes, it is a go! Last Month we announced that we were thinking about constructing a Newbie Mill/Forum here to help out all the M:tG newbies out there. Wow, what a response we got! Thank you everyone who e-mailed us, telling us it was a good idea, or volunteering your services. We got so much e-mail that, as usual, we couldn't answer them all. We're pleased to say that yes, the Newbie Mill/Forum construction is proceeding, and that it will be online sometime before the May issue comes out. Expect to see a beta/preview of the Newbie Mill itself arriving very shortly. And for all of you who volunteered your services, expect an e-mail from us when we go online. And our thanks for your generous offers ^_^
In the meantime, we're continuing requests for newbie articles, tips, or guides. You can send them, along with any tips or suggestions, to me at i***i@o***w.edu. We're going to need as much help as we can get to make this the ultimate guide to M:tG for newbies!!
Looking for Volunteers!
As Beyond Dominia continues to grow, we find that we need more help. Of course, since we're a fan-run e-zine, we don't have that much to offer, but we try. We need help in the following areas :
- Editor
- Will be responsible for editing two or three articles a month. Must be proficient in English and grammar (can't really trust Word 97's grammar check), and decent with Magic: the Gathering rules. Benefits? You get everything the Senior Contributor is entitled to (check the Contributor's FAQ for more info), an opportunity to read upcoming articles before anybody else, and an opportunity to perform the very occasional review (two were done in all of 1997).
-
- News Correspondent
- Will be in charge of bringing the extremely outdated news section up-to-speed, and provide future updates whenever anything comes. Must have decent writing skills, and knowledgeable in HTML. Benefits include everything the Senior Contributor is entitled to.
If you would be willing to help ut, drop us an e-mail at o***o@b***i.com. And, of course, we're always looking for contributors for the e-zine. Check out the Contributor's FAQ for more information.
Hope to see you again, next month!
