My original concepts of this deck was a burn or sligh deck that had a kick to it in the mid to late game ensuring the win. It stared out with 12 bolts and few creatures with accelerated mana. It evolved into a sligh deck with more creatures less combo cards and less burn, thanks to the suggestions of Lou (aka Mailman336). This version following is with modifications after a trial run at NG on the 27th.

My record was not good at NG but 2 of my 3 games were very close with a win to me both times. My matches were against 2 keepers and a sligh deck. The following day at a tourney back home in CT I reached the finals undefeated and was bumped by a Zombie Infestation deck with very heavy counters. One match was lost to a mana screw on my part with two paris mulligans to get land.

My metagame back home in CT consists of a variety of mostly Tier 2 or Tier 3 decks. The better decks were BBS, OSE, and sligh. My only other metagame might be NG if I decided to make the trek.

The overall play strategy is very simple. Drop early low cost threats, drop a rector get it killed or bolt it, then recycle them in a couple of turns. Life is used in this deck as a resource. There were many games I played where I was under 5 life and with recycle/fastbond/zuran orb I was able to do over 10 points of damage to end the game.

Thanks to Eric Spinelli, Robert Williams and others at NG for comments and suggestions.

Heres the deck list.

Some number of years ago, a card was made that gave Sligh that mid-game kick it needed, and it was named Cursed Scroll.

When you add that to the fact that Sligh has a much better mana curve and is a much more redundant and consistant deck, that concept pretty much rules out yours.

Something similar to this that would probably work a lot better is Green Tide. Look around, it's here on the mill, somewhere.

lol.......people actually know what Green Tide is!!! Brian would be so proud!

It's probably not possible to find a copy of Green Tide on the mills now.....After Survival got the 1.x axe, he hasn't played it much. It does make a fun little T1 deck, gaining power and concordant crossroads (actually a monumental boon).

If you want to know more about the deck, e-mail BrianB, Patron of Elves and Silly little combos (you'll find his sn in the Legend Appreciation day thread).

Cid: Your right about cursed scroll, I was aware of that. Like I said that was the original deck conception, then it sort of changed into a sligh deck with a combo built in. Maybe that makes it weak, but all I know is a sligh deck can sit mid game with only 1 card and scroll for 2, where my deck if it gets a cycle mid game has a definite kill in 1-3 turns.

I was trying not to look for critiques to can this idea rather make it better. Hey it may never be a Tier1 deck, but I'm going to try to get it there. Thanks for the imput though I will look into the Green Tide.

For Green Tide, I think it's the deck played by Brian Benedict at at 1.x PTQ:
