8 people showed up; 3 rounds of swiss followed by matches for 1st and 3rd.

1st round vs James(?) playing U/B Buried Alive
I never really figured out what his deck was up to; first game I got Mana Crypt and started going off early, but I stalled trying to find the Replenish. Mana Crypt and Cities started pinging away at my life total, and brought me down to 3. A few lucky coin flips my way were just enough to stall until I got the Replenish for the kill.
SB: Out: Disenchant, 4 FoW
In: 2 Orim's Chant, 3 Defense Grid
I got a Grid in the opening hand and dropped it second turn. Intuition third turn landed both combo elements in the graveyard (Gee, thanks?) and fourth turn Replenish met a shrug as the Counterspell in his hand was stranded by the Grid.
1-0
Second round: Kirk playing R/G/u Sneak Attack
This is the third time I've played against this deck; it features Serra Avatar, Mystic Snake, Survival, and Wizard Mentor as interesting tricks. Game 1 we both get good starts, him leading with a Bird and me using Careful Study to pitch the combo. Unfortunately, he used Gaea's Blessing on me to reshuffle my combo, and put down Sneak Attack/Serra Avatar for a turn 5 kill.
In: 2 Orim's Chant
Out: 2 Force of Will
Mana Crypt and Sol Ring in the opening hand? I lay them and start digging early; he drops birds and goes for a turn 3 Sneak Attack, which gets drained. I use the 4 mana to hardcast Saproling Burst and Replenish my Pandes into play the same turn for the kill.
3rd game was a close one. My Attunement got REBed, and I stalled after he used Gaea's Blessing to reshuffle my Pandes in. He dropped Sneak Attack but didn't have the Avatar; he dropped Penumbra Wurm and Wizard Mentor instead to Ball lightning me every turn. This put me on a fast clock, but I hardcast a Burst and held him off for a few turns. Orim's Chant ended up sealing the victory when my two Bursts were going to go the distance on the next turn.
2-0
3rd round vs Adam (AKA Hitler; I never did ask why) playing W/G/B JunkGeddon
His deck featured several 0-Mana Artifacts (Including Lion's Eye Diamond) and lots of fast creatures. 1st game is boring as he drops 1st turn Negator and I don't draw enough land to outrace him.
In: 2 Orim's Chant
Out: 1 Disenchant, 1 Force of Will
He drops an early Megatherium which I let through; I Careful Study first turn dropping Pande. He follows with Negator, and hits me to 11. He drops Elvish Spirit Guide for the kill, but I topdeck Saproling Burst like a true cheater and Attunement it away to Replenish for the kill.
3rd game - long story short, I drew 3 lands, he dropped 3 negators, and I didn't draw the Balance. I died pretty quickly.
2-1
Well, turns out Hitler is 3-0, and I have the best tiebreakers at 2-1. So guess what? We play for first.
1st game he doesn't draw very well and I Intuition for combo pieces and serve in typical 4th turn fashion unopposed.
In: 2 Chant, Out: 2 FoW
Mana Vault shows how stupid it can get as he hits me once with a Negator before I combo him out 3rd turn.

I win 1st place, $23 credit, a foil Man O' War and the privilege of putting a card up on the Wall of Fame - a Careful Study.

Props:
7 other people - for showing up and getting a tournament going.
Bettina and Bob - Always. Tournaments rock.
Deb - For playing Pandeburst!

Slops:
Deb - For going 0-3 playing Pandeburst :(
Me - For playing Pandeburst at all, when I have better decks
Adam - For abusing Lion's Eye Diamond like you did. You can't cast the last card in your hand with it, pal.
Ray and Joe - For not playing. WTF? Whiners.
Masquerade - For people not knowing the damned rules. Rule breakers make baby Jesus cry.
