Hi all,

I just sketched out a deck; I haven't playtested it, but I wanted to run it by the mill to see if I did anything really stupid before I begin to playtest. I've added explanations where necessary.

Creatures (12)

4 Ophidian
4 Meddling Mage
2 Morphling
2 Shadowmage Infiltrator - Ophidians 5 and 6

Counters (9)

4 Mana Drain
4 Force of Will
1 Misdirection - Good against Keeper's edict, Sligh's Bolt, Stompy's GG in this deck.

Board Control (4)

2 Swords to Plowshares
1 Diabolic Edict - Given amount of black land, this is all I can run

1 Dismantling Blow

0 Balance - Since I'm relying on creatures and a full hand, Balance doesn't seem as good in this deck as, say, Keeper. I do need to SB heavily vs. Stompy and other's game 2.

Broken Stuff and Ways to get it (7)

1 Fact or Fiction
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Mind Twist
1 Yawgmoth's Will

Mana (28)

7 SoLoMox - off color moxen for a quick Ophidian before UU on the other side

1 Library of Alexandria
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
4 Tundra
4 Underground Sea
4 City of Brass
3 Island
1 Undiscovered Paradise - gives me a source of black and white that can be untapped vs. Back to basics and can still let me cast UU (unlike Plains or Swamp).

Metagame is the bdchat metagame, which means nothing, because NOBODY PLAYS ME ANYMORE! Seriously, I find the online environment to be control heavy. In an aggro environment, I'd move out some of the Infiltrators and Mages to make room for more board control.

Just a thought. Feel free to rip it apart; unlike most, I have a thick skin.

As I was reading this, the thought "He really needs some more board control" kept flashing through my mind.....Even in a Control heavy field, I'd like to see either both Infiltrators or a couple Mages become Kegs.

if the mages are THAT good, then stick with white.

consider though, that you might be better off with red because of REB and dwarven miner in your control heavy metagame.

Red is an excellent option. I'm most worried about losing the ability to stop Abyss (which is badass vs. Opdhidian). Are there any red or black enchant worlds that would work well with this deck? I'll have to look when I get home.
