Beyond Dominia: The Type One Magic Mill: random musings on turboland

i've been playing turboland for a while, and was just wondering what others thought about turboland.

what is the best kill method for a random (but with powered) metagame? i've played with morph, i can't do any combos that need twister, and i came up with a mirror universe/shivan gorge which works well too. both morph and mirror all have their perks, but which one is better? how about if i'm going to board in negators?

oath or no? personally i don't like it in type 1. i find that 4 kegs vs sligh/stompy are just as effective since i'm going to combo them out soon enough.

now for the interesting part. compost or roar of the wurm? i havn't tested but the rational is this: vs sui idk if i'd rather have 6/6 beasts that eat negators and soften hymns or if i'd rather have compost. compost draws a lot, but i'll be doing that anyway and i'm not sure how much it would really help..... plus it can be taken by duress/hymn. roar stalls and is essentially imune to discard. so can i really use the extra cards or would a blocker that's imune to discard be better? i've got 5 slots for sui (6 if i use mirror as my kill and board roars).

Oath depends on how controlling your version is I guess. i.e. the more counters you run, the greater the chance aggro can race you.

I can say from the other side that oath is a beating if you use weavers. But by the same token if you're playing a faster "turbo-nevyn" style build it probably isn't necessary to use either oath or kegs since you go off at near academy speed on the gold-fish (that is agaisnt aggro).

Judging only from the turbo-land builds I've actually played against, in a general fully-powered type one metagame (basically palying online in other words :)) your best bet might be ancestral recursion decking. But thats just a somewhat educated guess on my part.

well, my version runs 4 fow 1 thwart, and 4 duress. my version is more toward the nurbo nevyn end of the spectrum, and it is certianly capeable of racing a ritual negator opening. i do need something vs aggro if i get a slower opening, i think keg's my man. but then again, i have 5 slots vs aggro and if morph is my win condition i could board 4 oath and a weaver.... i think keg wins out.

ancestral recursion is pretty time consuming. i think that i should use something else just out of sheer curtisy.

WTF is nurbo nevyn?

damn typo's ;)

i'm leaning toward roar of the wurm actually. neyvn boarded light of day but no compost, i suspect that roar will function in the same way (besides, i don't run white)
