Hey, I just wanted to give you guys the heads up- My boy James is coming out to NG this Sunday, and is looking to bust some heads and take some names (Read: Yan Margolin, your ugly face is actually wanted for something). He'll be there this coming sunday, the 14th, so any and all who want to play come and join him. Matt, he's really hoping to get some good Keeper matchups going, so I'd be great if you could make it as well.
Until then~

I am there almost every Sunday, although I am 95% sure this weekend are the USA National Karate Federation NY State Championships which I HAVE to attend in order to place and qualify for the Nationals later this year. I will attempt to make it to NG to hang out and play some games with your friend, although I'll miss the tournament. I'm sure he can get enough good Keeper matchups without me though--he should ask Mikey P. for a game while he's there.

Hopefully James will catch our erratic attendence on an upswing on the 14th.

Oh wait, that wasn't nearly trash-talky enough. Oh everyone knows the West Coast is soft anyways.

Hey, I was just wondering what kind of turnout my friend should expect for this sunday. For those of you who don't play at NG, just read this as:
**Bump**

Matt, are you into actual martial arts, or possibly an organizer/ manager?

I knew that all those times i was talking trash to you and saying i could kick your arse would come back to haunt me

... gulp... still friends right?

good buddy?

no hurt?

:)

By LambChopNYC (Lc) on Saturday, April 13, 2002 - 03:15 am:

I can't be sure that I will make it but I am a semi-regular here at ng for T1.
If I make it I will be wearing sunglasses and a pony tail, feel free to introduce yourself before the tourney that is sopose to begin at four.

Trash-talking? Oh please Freddie, have you said an unkind word to anyone here, I mean ever? [feel free to visualize and insert that little smiley face thing that I hate so much here]

Yeah, I'll be competing, though I'm totally not in the kind of shape I was around this time last year. Oh well, cross my fingers.

By Freddie Williams II (Freddie) on Saturday, April 13, 2002 - 10:39 am:

I was joking about the trash talking, but here's my first attempt:

"Matt, stop being so good!"

that didn't go the way i had entended. I'll try again.

"Matt, you would kick my arse in magic soooo hard, that..."

Ah forget about it.

Good luck my friend (in the martial arts competition this weekend).

As you apply the "simulated final blow," and the camera pans around you (just like in the matrix) and the lights grow brighter, and the music swells, say to your opponent...

"I'll use mana drain mana to cast -bash your face in-"

looks like I wont be able to make it
I really wanted to meet this west coast challenge but I will have to miss out
sorry

Well, Team ________ (we still haven't come up with a name) took it hard on the nose today. My friend went 1-2 playing G/W Enchantress (Though I know of at least one game where he should have no questions won). I guess we'll just have to wait until I can make it out to get a true test of our mettle. But I would like to publicly say, NG kicked his ass. Well done.

By Kirika (Kirika) on Monday, April 15, 2002 - 03:11 am:

I beat James 2-0 in the Sunday tournament. I was expecting a keeper deck instead of enchantress with all the talk about ass kicking. Good games anyway.

By Matt D'Avanzo, the Sylvan Librarian (Matt) on Monday, April 15, 2002 - 03:23 am:

I missed your friend, showing up about 10:30. Oh well, I guess I left things in good hands. I'm just curious, why did he come playing Enchantress?

--Matt

By Tracer Bullet, better than Spiff (Tracer) on Monday, April 15, 2002 - 11:37 pm:

Enchantress is a fun deck, and, when built properly (we had made some last minute changes) it should go 50/50 with Keeper. I really wanted to fit in Eladamri's Call, as getting the Enchantress into play is the way to win against Keeper. He also made some pretty brutal errors (not killing Illusions in response to Lifegain going on the stack), and missed a few opportunities that in retrospect, he should have gone for. Oh well. There will come another time when Team ______ gets the chance to smack around Team ___(NG?)___ in a full gruge-match type deal. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
