Needless to say, I won. I was the only person at our table drafting red black, and the person directly across was the only person drafting red.
Yeah. Nobody really drafts black red. One week I opened up Crosis, got a second pick Zanam Djinn, third pick Shivan Emissary, 4th pick Recoil. I got such a good deck that I won the tourney with only dropping Crosis once.
With apoc most people like going 2 allied colors and a shared opposing color, and everybody knows that BW is horrible when it comes to gold commons/uncommons, so black/red is usually avoided. People draft with apoc in mind and then just start passing Agonising Demise, Scorching Lava and such.
This isn't neccessarily a reliable strategy, but it can often be more rewarding than a deck with 2 Jilts and 2 Goblin Legionaires. Bottom line: People forgot how sick BR is in IN/PS because of apoc and then pass you tons of goodies!
