I've been thinking more on the mox diamond/necro thing. In 1.5 the diamonds are the best artifact mana producer out there. They are a special sort of card disadvantage, as the card you lose is one of your choice( a land ). Having two mana on turn one to cast hymns, sink holes pumpknights, ect, that normally don't comeout till 2nd turn sounds great. The problem arises is when you try and cast a juzam on turn 3. you need to have drawn 4 lands, the juzam and the mox by turn 3. Assuming you go first, thats 6 out of the 8 cards you drew, and half of what you drew needed to be land. Hmm...see the problem yet? It's not so bad if everything you cast costs 2 or three, but bigger things get progressively harder to cast. Having a deck with half mana is going to suck. Unless, you have some way of ripping through your deck either with Land tax, or necro or have some way of using all that mana(fireball. ect.) I'm sure no one on this earth has ever tried to play necro w/ land tax, and putting in land tax to the necro/diamond deck seems a little weak to me. You'd need 4 taxes, and which of your 4 life gaining spells are you going to remove for this? I was thinking the only way to run the ND deck would be focus on casting smaller spells, with a cost of three or less. No need for disks, yo'd have disenchants, bolts and whatever splash colors you'd want. Your deck would also be much more effective(or unaffected) by winter orb or armageddon( two of the best necro killers out there, classic necro loving lots of land) This necro would have to run without drains...I think, and a necro without drains would be something to see. Definitely new, not necessarily good. Anybody else have thoughts?( assuming you read THIS far....)
