July's MsotM

    The Sligh-brary

This month's MsotM is The Sligh-brary. As its name implies, this site is a repository for everything involving the "Sligh" deck concept. This page is a great resource whether you're interested in trying out this concept, or looking for its weaknesses. There's an introduction and background story for the newbies, analysis of various Sligh variations, and Sligh tournament performance reports.

The site is fairly well organized; we didn't have much trouble navigating through the site. This site does have a few small problems, though. They're really minor problems, but depending on how sensitive you are, they can prove to be annoying. The first, and probably more important of the two, is the fact that the page has three "banner exchange" banners on the top of the page. We're not saying that banner exchanges are bad; using them in small quantities, like 1 or 2 banners, is fine. But forcing ever single visitor to wait for all 3 banners to load before than can enter, might turn away a few potential visitors because of the lengthy download times. The second minor, and we do mean minor, "problem" is that the webmaster uses that vicious HTML tag, blink, at the top of the page. The blink tag is known netwide to be really, really, annoying.

If you can just scroll away from those minor, annoying, problems at the top of the page, you'll be in for a real treat of Sligh knowledge. Good site, and strongly recommended for any tournament-goers.
