Stretching Dominia Dollars, Part III Arabian Nights, without a doubt, the toughest booster set to look in for any kind of bargain. These M:TG cards seem to have settled down into several price ranges. First is the one I call "Too Expensive," (The Big Boys of Arabian Nights). They range in price from anything over $20 to the ridiculous $140 for the Juzam Djinn. When considering car like this I can only give one type of advice. Think it over carefully, then do what you think is right. If all those new Summons Elephant cards have you drooling when someone mentions Elephants Graveyard, then by all means go out and get one. I did. The next set of Arabian Nights cards fall into the category I call "Expensive," you know the range: $10 to $20. There are 2 main reasons why Arabian Nights cards fall into this range. As a general rule, look at this set this way, either the card has be reprinted and you can obtain a white boarder version for less or it simply isn't that good a card. There are no bargains in this group and only die hard collectors should be looking here. The last set of Arabian Night cards is the one I call "Almost Fairly Priced." Here lies the last place where, if rumors are right, bargains are about to be found. Every net list I've seen on the upcoming 5th Editions is listing the last of the Arabian nights common cards as being reprinted in the 5th edition. That means e better Arabian Nights common cards like Flying Men and Stone-Throwing Devils are about to take a dip in price. That's the time to go out and buy 1 copy of both. You get the pleasure of owning Arabian Nights originals at the lowest prices that will eve be around. When Kird Apes was first reprinted, I went out and paid a whole $2 for 1 black bordered version. When I'm playing someone new and they see the original version, darned if they don't stop for a minute and pick it up for a closer look. Well guys... It isn't much, but now is the time to be ready to react ... if you ever plan on getting any Arabian Nights cards at bargain prices. They may be "common" cards, but I wonder if there aren't more copies of the massive print "uncommons" like Ice Age's Sea Spirit than Arabian Nights "common" Flying Men. I've seen lots of Sea Spirits and only 1 Flying Men... Which I bought. Next month I'll be back to talk Chronicles. Now there is a booster set that is full of bargains. And for reading this far I'll let you in on a secret that only people who read this column will know. ZENHELM IS COMING IN APRIL. What? You want to know what Zenhelm is.... How about, just an alternative world where everyone is a magic user and spells cost no mana to cast? There's only one place to find worlds like that, a place called...BEYOND DOMINIA. See ya next month.... Thank You - Dave
