Prosperity Seeker

First off, I'd like to thank those of you who've sent responses about the decks, either positive or negative. If you've sent me a message, and didn't get replied to, I'm sorry. School, and my mail server being down for a short period are to blame for this.

Now, it's time to gripe. The Deck Mill is going to make it even more challenging for me to put decks here that are unique, or at least different or strange. For example: the first post I saw in the Deck Mill? A Prosperity/Drain deck. That is the standard Prosperity deck. I have a deck that is built along similar principles, but has several major differences: a Prosperity/Storm Seeker deck.

The basics behind a Prosperity deck are simple. Get a Cadaverous Bloom into play and dump your hand to cast Prosperity. A Prosperity deck has four Prosperities in it, so you're almost definately going to draw another one. Even if you don't draw another Prosperity, bring it back to your hand with Elven Cache. Rinse, Lather, Repeat.

At this point comes into play the several ways a Prosperity deck can win. The simplest one is to run your opponent out of cards. At 65 cards, this deck is usually just big enough to outlast your opponent in the card area. Another way is the standard dump your hand for a huge drain life. Finally, you and your opponent have drawn obscene amounts of cards. Well, for a measely 3G, you can smash your opponent with a Storm Seeker or four.

Unfortunately, this deck is extremely combo-centric. Knock one link out of the chain, and you have problems. That is what makes City of Solitude such an excellent card for this deck. This deck is built to slaughter your opponent during one of your turns. Your opponent could stop your grand scheme with any of the many counterspells that are floating around in T2. Well, the City of Solitude stops your opponent from doing anything (except dying) during your turn.

Another drawback is that this deck is four-color in order to provide Wrath of God to slow down heavy creature decks. This is a small inconveniece, with City of Brass, Undiscovered Paradise, Thawing Glaciers, and Vampiric Tutor on your side. They make the mana problem nonexistant.

Be expected to get pounded on for a couple of turns by creatures, especially when playing against weenie decks. Don't worry about it. With the Howling Mines, Teferi's Puzzle Boxes, and the Tutors, if you don't have a card you need now, you will next turn. Just be patient, and victory will be yours.
