A Bakers Dozen of the Best of Fallen Empires
A Followup to last month's Stretching Dominia Dollars

What's that? The connection we tried to provide you (in last month's Stretching Dominia Dollars) to see an article on the 10 best cards from Fallen Empires didn't work! Well now...about the only remedy we can offer is to do our own list, but make it bigger and maybe even better. So grab on to your hats and take a ride down memory lane as we review the best of one of the most underrated booster sets ever published.

Lets start with the top 5 cards. I refuse to say card one is better then card two. It's all a matter of opinion and what type of deck you're looking to improve. Instead I'll list the top 5 cards in alphabetic order. They are all some of the best Magic cards ever published.

Breeding Pit - once the ongoing food source for Lord of the Pit, it now has more cards like Machine to combo with and they always loved being 2/2 or better depending on how many Bad Moons you could get out.

Hymn To Tourach - what can I say...I play one card and you discard 2 cards at random. The name of the game is card advantage.

Order Of Leitbur - a pump knight with first strike and protection from black. A must for white weenie decks.

Order Of the Ebon Hand - Same as above except with protection from white. And they are common cards, talk about bargain city!

Seasinger - there's something "precious" about beating other players with their own creatures.

Well there they are. What I consider the top 5 cards and why. Now lets round off this list with 8 cards that almost made that list. If you think they belong in the above list... you could be right... it's all a matter of opinion.

1. Aeopile - 2 points of direct damage when you need it.
2. Goblin Grenade - 5 points of damage for one mana.
3. Dwarven Catapult - direct damage to multicreatures - bye bye Autumn Willow.
4. Icatian Javelineers - 1 point casting shooter.
5. Hand of Justice - can take out any creature by tapping 3 white weenies.
6. Orgg - tough when there's no one on the other side.
7. Derelor - tough guy if the deck doesn't depend on black.
8. Vodalian Knights - I love the art.

I can only hope the next booster is as powerful as F.E. is! See ya later...I'm off to Zenhelm.

      Thank You - Dave
