Hi everybody. This is my first article for "Beyond Dominia" and I'd like
to introduce myself. Not been a professional, I've played Magic for a long
time ( too much in fact). I joined the Magic players community around June 1995. Ice
Age was on their first steps, and people were talking about the incoming Fourth
Edition and changes with Revised. I've never owned a dual land, nor Moxes
or Black Lotus. For a while I had a Sol Ring. You can see im not the kind
of player who spend 100$ a week on MtG.
Money, however, had never been a problem. Funny little critters had always
been fine to me, and I always had paid attention to them. My decks usually
didn't win tournaments, but did finish in the top ten. There's
always spells ignored by most people, but are useful. I've had many situations in which my opponent just stared at me, not able to believe
what his/her eyes had just seen. Such moments are worth the lost duels.
So, what will I talk about? Decks, decks, and decks. Combo decks. Cheap
decks, most of them for with a Cloister value of less than $50. Decks with unusual creatures. Funny decks for having fun with
friends. Decks with many commons, some uncommon, and a few rares. And, for starters, I'd like to introduce one of my favorite decks to you: 'Forceggeddon'
This is another 'ggeddon deck. The same idea, new big buddy. Now, its the Force of Nature. This deck even works well if 'geddon doesn't work.
First of all, you can see the big guys, the Serra Angels and the Forces.
The Armaggedon, Disenchants, and StP are the first line of defense. For
faster speed, use the elves. That's basically what everybody expects. Take a look at the new cards... the
COP: green goes pretty well with Force of Nature. Instead of paying GGGG each upkeep,
prevent the 8 points of damage with the circle. Since the Force doesn't tap if
not paying upkeep ( poor Lord of the Pit's lovers), its ready to smash the
opponent. That's the way to take out and maintain 2 or more Forces, but beware
of the Ray of Command. And, as an added bonus, you won't get mana screwed with the force.
The lifelace and the COPs make the good suprise combo. You won't have to fear more letal
Fireballs and the like. Prevent them for 2 Mana; one G for the lace, and one
generic to power up the circle. Nothing's better than a green dragon/wall... :)
The rest of the deck is easy to figure out. In such a mana plenty deck, use a
fountain to get some life. The fellwars go for power up the circle after
force-armaggedon. And the Zuran's slot needs
no arguement to justify. I just wish I cuold put more :) If you want to make this deck Type II, put quirion elves instead of Fyndhorn, and put another lace instead of the Zuran. A green and a white diamond instead of fellwars can make it's way here, also.
