Editor's Note : Jacob Krejci (better known as Cup) is starting a chroniclization of the happenings of the much chaotic War Mill. In case you haven't seen it, it's sort of a place where Magic and role-playing mix...
After the legendary Atog Wars of Beyond Dominia people became worried of another outbreak. They decided to form "guilds" groups of people that
stood for the same
thing that could watch each other's backs in time of crisis. This way
if a conflict broke
out no one would have to worry about fighting alone.
After the second Atog War Beyond Dominia experienced a brief period of peace. The three major generals: Elrohir, Gandalf, and Cup(formerly the much hated
Anonumus) decide to put there pasts aside and form a triumvirate for the benefit
of all. During a discussion Gandalf spoke of a time when he traveled to the forbidden
forest of Deep Shadow and came in contact with a female Elf known as Katie or more
commonly: "Elf Girl". Cup and Elrohir were both enthralled with the tale and begged
Gandalf to introduce them to this forbidden beauty. Knowing of the true evil of
Deep Shadow and its inhabitants Gandalf flat out refused to have anything to do with Elf
Girl. It was dropped for the time being, but deep in Cup's mind he knew that no
promise was unbreakable and decide that from that day forward his purpose in live
was to seek out and wed this beautiful Elf Girl.
One guild came together before any other had time to get on their
feet: The Nettletooth Clan led by the green mage Frosty. They quickly lumped
together a large eager following. They were getting big, almost to big. To wandering
mages by the names of Liberator and Telim Tor realized the danger in having such a
large unstoppable force present, they knew that they had to build up another guild to keep
their power in check. Just at that time Cup approached them. Cup had a plan to
construct a large army of warriors to assist him in seeking Elf Girl and upholding her name.
Together Cup, Liberator and Telim Tor founded The Minions of Elf Girl. The three
generals launched a vicious attack on the Nettletooths, directing the actions almost solely
on Frosty, and soon, the 3 quickly and brutally brought the Nettletooths to their knees. Without a
leader the Nettletooths quickly disband and Minions of Elf Girl was established as
the dominant force in Beyond Dominia.
Telim devoted most his time to the recruitment of new members. He
walked through every village in the land shouting praises of MoEG and making promises
of power to all who joined. Thanks to his amazing recruitment efforts grew to
unbelievable lengths. Even Cup's Former arch nemesis Elrohir joined in. MoEG was unstoppable,
or so it seemed.....
Many other guilds formed based on personal philosophies, the colors of magic, and ways of battle.
Kai God formed the Guild of Mass Destruction. Although it
was based on the destruction of all opposition, it was a diplomatic guild that used a
council to decide the fate of their next victim.
Gandalf started a small guild known as Oor-Tael based on the blue
magics. Instead of using shear might to overwhelm there opponents they used trickery and
intelligence to defeat there advisaries. It accumulated a small, but loyal following of
blue mages. They chose to stay out of other guilds matters and instead chose to become
onlookers, watching the other guilds actions from afar and involving themselves if
they saw it necessary. They were able to establish a strong alliance with the
Minions of Elf Girl because of Cup's reliance on Gandalf as a door to finally meeting Katie.
The noble archmage Chronos created the rather large holy alliance.
The guild was devoted entirely to righteous white magic, but they allowed in mages of
other colors. They expanded greatly and began to look like a threat to MoEG's grasp of
Beyond Dominia.
A mage devoted solely to evil, Venture, Founded the Dark Void. The guilds object was to collect all lands that it deemed evil. Its first goal however
was to destroy the Holy Alliance.
In order to dissolve any harsh feeling that the guild may have for
each other Chronos declared a world wide festival to take place. Cup knew Chronos's Holy
Alliance was a threat and was wary of his true intentions. Cup, nervous as he was,
attended the festival. While walking throughout the vast streets the festival was held on he
noticed several members of the Holy Alliance cracking lewd jokes about his precious Elf
Girl. He was outraged. An attack on the Holy Alliance was immediately launched. The
Holy Alliance wasn't to concerned with MoEG's attack. While MoEG had a bigger army,
the Alliance had a army that was nearly as large, but its soldiers were arguably more
well trained than MoEG's hastily pushed together group of undevoted lackeys.
Cup knew it would be foolish to launch a War by himself. He may be able to defeat the Holy Alliance, but it would only leave him open to another guild's
attack. So, he enlisted some help.
Using his vast influence he was able to convince the Council of
Destruction to choose the Holy Alliance as its next target of destruction. Venture obviously
joined in with MoEG's crusade against his arch enemies. Gandalf loaned his services to
MoEG also, for he doubted the Holy Alliances true intentions.
Cup had done it. He turned all of Beyond Dominia against his
enemies for his own personal gain. All seemed to going perfectly until dissension arose
among his allies. Telim Tor, Cup's right hand man and head recruiter had sent letters to
Members of Oor-Tael with Gandalf's forged signatures in an attempt to break up his
guild. Gandalf was more than a little upset. Just when Telim and Gandalf were about to go
at it in a duel to the death Cup stepped in. He was knew that Gandalf was his most
important ally, he was his only door to Elf Girl. He also knew that Telim's assistance was
greatly needed. If Telim were to be kicked out of MoEG he would most likely take his army
with him, that could not happen. Luckily, Cup was able to divert there attention from
each other and focus it on a common enemy: The Holy Alliance.
The combined forces of Beyond Dominia destroyed the Holy Alliance
in short order. Chronos and several of his closest generals fled from there castle and
went into hiding. By this time Cup had grown very confident in his powers and credited Elf
Girl with all his accomplishments. He felt that it was Elf Girl who had turned all of
Beyond Dominia to his side and felt that she deserved payment. Venture led the
pillaging of the Holy Alliances Castle and the distribution of there possessions. Cup stepped
in and demanded that ALL possessions be turned over to him so that he may someday
deliver them to Katie, whom he believed was responsible for the destruction of the Holy
Alliance. Venture laughed in Cup's face and then demanded that Elf Girl's home,
Deep Shadow, become property of the Dark Void. Cup knew he had to destroy Venture.
When Cup turned back to the rest of Beyond Dominia for help again
they didn't give him such a warm reception. The people realized that Cup only cared
about Elf Girl, not the populace of Beyond Dominia. A peasant's revolt was out of the
question. MoEG's army led by Telim Tor would easily squash them, but.....
